Why Alkaline Water is Better Water

by Kimberly Johnston

Many studies have demonstrated that maintaining the body in a properly hydrated state has both health benefits and improves athletic performance. Benefits that have been attributed to alkaline water include increased endurance, faster recovery, oxygen saturation; body temperature control and blood pressure reduction. We need water for hydration, and a recent study published in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition confirms that alkaline water hydrates better than plain water.

Water is the number one beauty secret because it’s a natural skin moisturizer. That’s why so many skin products aim at reversing the ravages of dehydration: dry, wrinkled skin. Beauty really does come from within. In addition, the antioxidant properties of alkaline water can help slow down and reduce the inflammatory wear-and-tear of free radicals in the body.

Also, hydrating our body enables it to flush more toxins out. Ensuring proper hydration keeps the colon lubricated. When we are dehydrated, our brain takes priority over the rest of the body for the water in the bloodstream. The colon is the first organ in our body that your brain deprives of water, so it dries out when we’re dehydrated. Alkaline water also helps neutralize lactic acid in the muscles, which improves their ability to use oxygen.

Maintaining the proper pH balance in the kidneys has been shown to be a preventive measure against a medical condition called metabolic syndrome. In fact, raising the pH of your urine by just 1 pH can prevent or eliminate the significant health risk symptoms of obesity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and high blood sugar.

There are many ways to obtain alkaline water, including drinking pH-balanced water from a bottle, such as Alkazone Antioxidant Water; from an Alkazone filter system; or from regular tap water treated with Alkazone Alkaline Booster drops.
