Household Hazardous Waste Collection in September

The Bergen County Utilities Authority (BCUA) is sponsoring a household hazardous waste drop-off, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine, September 6, in Mahwah. Acceptable oyems include pesticides, glue, fertilizers, bug sprays, kerosene, mercury switches, fire extinguishers, thermostats, fluorescent light bulbs and lighter fluid.

A complete listing of acceptable and unacceptable material is available on the BCUA website. All items brought should be in their original container and labeled. Anything without a label will not be accepted. No computers, electronics or tires will be accepted. Businesses that wish to leave waste must preregister. A disposal fee will be charged and collected for businesses.
