It’s a Mad World After All…

It’s a mad, mad, mad world, but you have to love it. It’s truly a blessing to arrive at a point where you can embrace and accept all of it without exceptions. New Age spiritual wisdom suggests that we’re born into this Earth plane so that we can evolve as spirit beings with the added challenge of basically occupying an animal body with a more evolved brain than the rest of the animal kingdom. Some have also stated that we are all part of a “source energy” (call it God if you like) that embodies itself as everything that exists to experience itself as different aspects of itself.

If you read this magazine and participate in activities such as meditation and yoga, then you are more than likely in touch with the non-animal part of your being. A portion of the world’s population does not subscribe to this or similar beliefs and their lives can be easily perceived as drudgery. What’s this existence all about anyway? …birth, school, work and death?

Not to cast any judgments, but we are essentially born into economic slavery. Sure, some of us have conquered the beast called money; however, if you take a look around, you’ll see that many have not, and continue to live under the weight of some level of poverty. It’s amusing to think that instead of creating a “heaven on Earth”, man, and perhaps woman, as well (although the latter may be an innocent bystander) created a world full of injustice and strife that appears to be driven mostly by the need for enrichment and empowerment at the expense of others. It’s enough to make anyone go mad.

Don’t get us wrong. We like money and what it does for us, but have you ever questioned why things are the way they are? Have you questioned why we’re not living a life of ecstasy in Utopia, when we possess the drive, desire, technology and capabilities to do so? Man’s ego is more than likely the main culprit. Once you surrender to your ego, you begin to look at the world in a different way. We strongly believe that when we live through our ego, we leave ourselves vulnerable to influence and manipulation by outside forces.

The problems of our now global society are not at all that complex, and resolving them is a “we” solution. We have to start thinking and doing things differently than we have for at least the last several millennia…each and every one of us, or at least a large percentage of us, in order to effect the kind of change that we wish to see in the world. It begins right were we stand. It begins with how we choose to treat other people; and not just our family members and friends. It begins in the home, neighborhood, workplace, mall, local pub and town, and it spreads out from there. If everything is made of energy, as science has proven, why not make a conscious effort to always practice the golden rule? After all, each and every one of us energetically creates that long ripple on the surface of the pond.
