Reinvent Yourself
Jerry recently sent these comments to a friend that is working through some long-term “personality disorders”.
“Forgive me, for at times in the past I have judged and criticized you within the confines of my mind, but lately I’ve been developing this unorthodox, almost strange fondness for you. So I asked myself why. It’s because I now see you as a beautiful work in progress… quite possibly a magnificent Phoenix that will soon rise above the wreckage of the past and present as she learns that with each passing moment, she shapes her current reality with her thoughts, feelings and actions… someone that takes complete responsibility for herself and everything that she attracts into her orbit… someone that never plays the victim and is in command of her life…someone that will always steer toward the side of peace, love and fun.”
As he wrote those comments to her, Jerry realized that only a couple of years ago, this could have been a letter that he wrote to himself. He believes that he couldn’t have produced those words three years ago as he was still wrestling with his ego, as well a number of issues that required to be cleared, resolved, forcibly extracted, lightly floured, kneaded and cremated.
At least once in life, we should all possess the drive and courage to reinvent ourselves. Madonna did it numerous times and it kept her career thriving for decades.
