Mindful Meeting of the Minds

The Krame Center for Contemplative Studies and Mindful Living at Ramapo College of New Jersey has partnered with the Center for Mindfulness (CFM) at the University of Massachusetts Medical School to offer many new and exciting programs. CFM has been a pioneer in the mindfulness movement and bringing Jon Kabat-Zinn’s Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course to tens of thousands of people.

In addition to eight-week MSBR courses, the Krame Center now offers weekly meditations, silent retreats, the MBSR Fundamentals Professional Education program for future MBSR instructors and many other exciting programs.

Experts at University of North Carolina School of Medicine found most people that attend an eight-week mindfulness-based stress reduction course report lasting improvement in both physical and psychological symptoms from conditions such as heart disease, migraine headaches, some autoimmune diseases, obsessive thinking, anxiety, depression and hostility.

They also report an increased ability to relax, greater energy and enthusiasm for life, improved confidence and self-esteem, and more effective coping with both short-term and long-term stress.
