Bergen County EarthFest at Overpeck Park
Hackensack Riverkeepers Inc. is hosting their second annual Earthfest celebration from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., April 25, at Overpeck Park, in Leonia. Activities include presentations by environmental nonprofits, green vendors, animal rescue groups, healthy-living advocates, live entertainment and a beer garden.
One of the highlights of the day is a Recycled Regatta, in which teams of boat builders launch small vessels assembled from unlikely materials such as discarded milk jugs and scrap lumber, and then pilot them down Overpeck Creek.
