The New Weis Center for Education, Arts & Recreation will host a Family Nocturnal Nature Night & Bonfire from 8 to 9:30 p.m., July 24. Participants can experience the outdoors at night. listen for tree frogs and flying squirrels on a guided twilight hike, then finish the evening with a bonfire and s’mores.

The New Weis Center property was a farm in the 1800s and was purchased by the Carrigan family in 1866. In 1920, the New York chapter of an organization called The Nature Friends, a group of outdoor enthusiasts who enjoyed hiking, skiing and other outdoor sports, purchased the farm and renamed it Camp Midvale.
