0Getting to the Root of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Patients are generally given a diagnosis of chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) or fibromyalgia (FM) when doctors have exhausted a barrage of diagnostic testing and are unable to make a diagnosis. Thanks to the research and development of a protocol from Dr. Bruno Chikly, in cooperation with Dr. Raymond Perrin’s work in the UK, there are now non-invasive techniques available for assessing and treatment for relief of CFS and FM symptoms.
The main symptom of CFS is a feeling of extreme tiredness, disabling in some cases, and generally feeling unwell ,accompanied by a daily range of additional conditions, including muscle and/or joint pain, headaches, sleep issues, brain fog—problems thinking, remembering or concentrating, a sore throat or sore glands that are not swollen, flu-like symptoms, feeling dizzy or sick, fast or irregular heartbeats (heart palpitations).
The sympathetic nervous system is part of the autonomic nervous system, which controls all the automatic functions of the body. Although it is known for being the system which helps us in times of danger and stress, often referred to as the “fight-or-flight” system, the sympathetic nervous system is important in controlling blood flow and the normal functioning of the heart, kidney and bowels. It is vital for healthy lymphatic drainage. With CFS sufferers, it is hypothesized that the sympathetic nervous system has been placed under stress for many years before the onset of signs and symptoms. The stress could have actually started from a postural strain, an emotional or environmental toxic factor or stress on the immune system due to a previous infection or allergy. If dysfunction and back-flow of toxins
hasn’t already begun by this time, then the last straw could very well be that viral infection which further disrupts normal bodily functions.
Thus a buildup of toxins and inflammatory chemicals in the fluid around the brain and spinal cord is caused by infection or inflammation in the head or spine flowing from channels into the lymph ducts of the head, face and neck. These toxins are meant to drain down the spinal cord and out into the lymph ducts lying along the spine. When there is a backflow of these normal drainage points in the case of a CFS or FM sufferer, this leads to further toxicity and dysfunction of the central nervous system. Including, but not limited to CFS and
FM, symptoms associated with multiple sclerosis and many post-infectious chronic neuro-inflammations such as Epstein- Barr virus/mononucleosis/glandular fever, shingles, Q-fever and human herpesvirus 6 can benefit greatly from this protocol. The treatment helps to increase the blood flow in the cortical and midbrain, as well as assisting the rebalancing of the autonomic dysfunction and abnormal lymphatic flow.
