Dain Heer Access Consciousness Classes

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it and join the dance. ~Alan Watts, philosopher

Dain Heer, co-creator of Access Consciousness with Gary Douglas, is definitely no stranger to plunging into and joining the dance of change. His journey of transformation is that of a seeker who uses the “art of the question” to open up a world of possibilities to everyone and everything that crosses his path. For many years, Heer explored numerous classes, seminars and workshops in search of tools to create a different reality, find his purpose and create a life of joy and ease.

Appropriately, Heer likes to quote a few sentences from A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles, a book written by another well known change agent, Marianne Williamson. “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure…There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. … And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.” The reason he likes this quote from Williamson is that it empowers people to know that they have the ability to change the world.

A former chiropractor who left his career behind, Heer recalls how he felt focused and inspired by being with like-minded people and learning to use whatever tools were presented in the workshop. “Three days later, that feeling had dissipated and I felt just as lackluster and without a sense of purpose or direction as I had prior to the workshop. It was a pattern, and I wondered if that was just the way things were always going to be,” he says.

Everything changed when Heer received an Access Bars session. Life immediately began showing up differently. “After the session, I glanced up at the sky and wondered if it had always looked that beautiful or had I not been paying attention. My new sense of peace, love, kindness, caring and a sense of belonging that I felt was so noticeable that I knew I had to find an Access Consciousness class,” says Heer. Two levels of training later, Heer knew to consult with the intelligent energy that animates his body about proceeding to level three. “My body knew what I needed. Within 30 minutes of level three, the energy came through to transform me,” he says.

The purpose of Access Consciousness is to create a world of consciousness and oneness by empowering people to know that they know—a world where everything exists and nothing is judged. According to Heer, when individuals are awakened to this knowing, they are open to receiving everything—the good, the bad and the ugly—with total ease. They can also be present in every moment and create the life they desire.

From Access Consciousness and its many tools that he put to use, Heer learned how to “uncreate” the confining walls of limitations that he once described as an invisible electric fence. “I was 30 years old and helping others with their physical pain, yet I was continuously overwhelmed by my own physical pain and a sense of emotional heaviness. I was tired and depressed most of the time. After my first session, even my brown faux leather chiropractic table looked good to me, and I had never liked it,” jokes Heer.

Following his first session, Heer was quick to put one tool to use that his practitioner gave him. Its effectiveness still lingers in his memory. “Every time I had a sad or depressing thought, I was to ask myself, ‘who does this thought belong to?’” advises Heer, who points out that Access Consciousness proposes that 98 percent of the thoughts, feelings and emotions we have aren’t actually ours. Rather, we are like psychic radio receivers, picking up the thoughts and feelings of others.

“For three days, I had sticky notes all over my house so that I could be awake to the negative thoughts in my head, ask that question, perceive that the thoughts weren’t mine and return them to the sender. By the fourth day, I was walking around with very few thoughts in my head. That tool really lightened me up significantly,” he remarks.

Fond of querying his clients and audiences, Heer’s profound questions act like planted seeds; Sometimes they wake people up immediately, but more often they take time to germinate, grow and produce results. One thing the questions do is make people think outside of what they’ve decided is possible, such as, “If you could create anything now and choose anything right now as your future, what would it be? What would you choose if you knew you couldn’t fail? If you could change anything in your life or in the world, what would it be?”

“My ‘being you’ is about empowering you to know that you know and give you an energetic experience of being that you won’t find anywhere else. When we are willing to be truly who we are, none of us judges ourselves or one another,” explains Heer.

He enthuses, “We are the change we want to see in the world. We all have the potential to be and change the world, because each one of us is the difference the world requires. And, now is the time.”
