0Awakening the Brain’s Full Potential with Higher Brain Living
Dr. Michael Cotton’s marquee event is a two-hour presentation from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., October 20, at the New York Marriott Marquis – Times Square, in New York City.
Dr. Michael Cotton is a man with a plan. As the founder of Higher Brain Living, “the fastest-growing revolution in personal development,” he wants to teach people how to unleash the brain’s full potential to achieve the life of their dreams. His marquee event is a two-hour presentation from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., October 20, at the New York Marriott Marquis – Times Square, in New York City.
“Most people that become clients of Higher Brain Living have come to a point in their lives where they realize that there’s more out there in their career or what they do from day to day; there’s more than what they have, there’s more than what they’re currently experiencing,” states Cotton.
The first half of the event will give individuals a general introduction to Higher Brain Living, including two live demonstrations. Cotton says, “We’re going to lay out what that technique is all about; what it does and why it does it. Then I’m going to actually demonstrate with a client the shift of the lower brain into the higher brain and the profound physiological change that happens in their body as you see this energetic surge move through them. It’s quite dramatic, and that’s why we say it’s ‘mind-blowing,’ because it really is.”
Cotton describes the process as literally a wave of energy that moves through the body. “When we tap into these latent, dormant pathways, there is what we call a piezoelectric effect, or a release of energy, that moves into the higher brain in our system,” he explains. “It lights up that dormant potential that’s in our higher brain, and the wavelike movement you see is how the body responds when this energy goes through it.”
Cotton states, “We have a whole process for what comes next. Once people start getting this energy uploaded into the higher brain, they start to bring that into their life through a systematic strategy to make life changes.” The work of renowned American philosopher Ken Wilber also plays a central role in Cotton’s creation, “His integral theory serves as an orienting framework for Higher Brain Living,” says Cotton. “We use that model to create the mapping and consistency of what we do.”
The Higher Brain Living System is a 22-step program. “I think that to energize a part of the brain that’s been dormant in humanity for a very, very long period of time and be able to create a life of your dreams; 22 steps in 22 weeks, is incredibly short,” says Cotton. “This is the fast track to major transformation of your brain and your life.” In addition to the weekly sessions, there is a 25-minute daily practice to implement the lessons.
Cotton himself traveled a circuitous path to his present position as a leading evolutionary theorist and the founder of Higher Brain Living. “I had been a very stressed-out, fearful child with chronic migraine headaches,” he relates. “All through high school, I was underachieving, lost and confused. One day while working at a minimum-wage job, I experienced a surge of energy and confidence, and I knew in that moment that my whole life was going to change.” He became obsessed with studying human growth and potential development, eventually graduating from Cleveland Chiropractic College, in Kansas City, Missouri, finishing the four-year program in three years with national honors.
He became involved with energy work and physiology. “I had come to the conclusion that the higher brain was the missing link in personal transformation,” he says. “All of these different techniques had developed without a clear understanding of that untapped potential in the higher brain. It was like an ‘Aha!’ moment for me, realizing what had to become front and center.”
In the second half of the event, participants will learn about the training and certification program for Higher Brain Living. “We’ll introduce people to the options available for them to actually learn this technique,” says Cotton. “There are several different tiers as far as time, cost and where and how to get involved. We’ll offer people the opportunity to enroll in one of our training programs at the live event.”
The program attracts a high percentage of people that are already practicing in the wellness field, such as massage therapists, yoga teachers, energy workers or psychologists. Cotton, however, notes that anyone can become a Higher Brain Living practitioner. “We have people that just want to be able to work in a way where they experience more meaning in their lives. They feel like they’re making a bigger difference in the world, so there’s a lot of lay people out there with big hearts that really want to get involved in something that is more meaningful than what they’re currently doing.”
Cotton affirms, “We don’t see ‘patients’ and we don’t treat ‘diseases’ or try to fix ‘symptoms.’ We help people to get energy into that higher part of their brain so they can grow and evolve in all areas of their life.
