0Nine Things to Love About Yoga
hose relatively new to yoga may have tried it a few times and felt that they could not do it. Perhaps there was too much going on in their head, but not in their body. A more successful approach might be to go with friends that are already involved in the practice or even teach it, thus combining that camaraderie with the joy of the practice.
If the old mindset was, “I can’t do yoga, I tried it last year, I am so out of shape, I can’t possibly do this. I gave up before I started. I was too focused on being what I thought I had to be, I was in my head, not in my body;” then the new mindset will become; “I love feeling this connection with my body, stretching, breathing and floating. I am free, I am inspired.” Then, the transforming thought emerges: “I am unlimited in capacity for change, growth, and empowerment.”
Nine Things to Love About Doing Yoga
- I smile in yoga: I choose to be in yoga, so I smile as I settle on my mat awaiting our class to begin.
- My heart opens in yoga: From our first breath, to our final Om, I feel love expanding from every pore.
- I feel just right in yoga: There are no mirrors distracting me to judge myself, I feel just right in every pose.
- I am inspired in yoga: Connected to my inner peace, inspiration begins to flow.
- I am supported in yoga: There is always a gentle hand or prop offered when the need arises.
- I release in yoga: Perceptions or beliefs which serve no purpose gently evaporate.
- I embrace in yoga: Free from limits. I have space to embrace.
- I am here and I am there in yoga: The perfect bal ance of yin and yang, the perfect balance of stillness and flow.
- I am grateful in Yoga: Namaste, the light in me recognizes the light in you.
