Community Building Event – Feb 4th
It’s time to usher in the new year and a new consciousness for a new world. On February 4, Natural Awakenings magazine is co-hosting a free healthy living speaker conference with the folks at CareOne at The Cupola at their facility in Paramus (see ad, page 11). Admission to the event is free and if you don’t drive or have a car, then you can summon yourself an Uber. There’s no excuse not to attend. The address is 100 West Ridgewood Avenue.
We have a burgeoning healthy living community in Northern New Jersey, and we’re poised to take the rest of the world by storm. We would like to hold more events at least once a month, and by the summer, potentially expand them into something that would resemble the Woodstock Festival of 1969. So with this in mind, I’m putting a call out to all of you to join us in developing a rolling event that brings us together each moon for the co-creation of a scene rich in all forms of self-expression.
In the four years that Pat and I have been publishing this magazine, we’ve been fortunate to meet many talented people—healers, educators, musicians, artists and the list goes on. With enough participation from all of you, we can keep the cost of attendance low and perhaps even create some long-term employment opportunities.
The first step is to engage in a dialogue on this topic, which we’ll begin to do on February 4. We’ll then form a community council to manage these events. I believe that a mind-body-spirit-type effort such as this should rest in the hands of locals and not a business entity. This will no doubt cultivate an entirely different energy and also allow for a more rapid expansion of this project. Do contact us if you would like to assist with the February 4 event.
