0We Live in Interesting Times
This issue marks our fifth year of publishing the Northern New Jersey edition of Natural Awakenings magazine.
We live in interesting times. A new future is evolving. Everything around us appears to be accelerating. For too long, evolution has progressed through us as if we were just passive observers; now, the time has arrived for humanity to help collectively energize the process. You can choose to move intelligently and consciously into the changes that have already begun, or you can do nothing and perhaps be dragged kicking and screaming into them. The choice is yours. One way or another, you will participate.
Many of us are beginning to sense that great change is upon us. Individuals are waking up and obsolete paradigms—really just ideas held together by our collective beliefs—are beginning to shift. The level of thinking that got us here is not sufficient for the task ahead.
You never change things by fighting the existing reality; you do it by building a new model that makes the existing model obsolete. We have both the desire and the ability to better our planet and every person on it, and a good amount of the needed framework is already here.
New, safer, cleaner, better technologies have been making their way up from the cracks and blossoming right before our eyes. If you doubt this, point your browser to CrowdEnergy.org to see just one brilliant example. We must, however, immediately awaken and realize that we are a subset of a larger ecosystem, not its masters.
Don’t be afraid to step into the power you feel within you. It is part of your sacred work to serve others in these times. You are in good company with all those that are waking up to their expanding capacities. There’s nowhere to go but forward in a never-ending evolution of consciousness. We need to stop waiting for someone else to fix everything. There is no one else. There’s only you and me. We are the system, and we’re the ones that have to change.
