0Tune Up Your Life for Fresh Beginnings
Although we can start anew, transform and grow at any time, we often associate the date of January 1 as a time to reflect on the past year and set intentions or goals for the current year. So let’s talk about tuning up your life. Have you been resonating through your higher self (vibrations of love, joy, connection, gratitude and excitement) or your ego (vibrations of fear, judgment, anxiety, anger, separation and resistance)? Often, we say, “That resonates with me,” when something reflects as truth based on our perception of an experience, but sometimes we don’t realize that it resonates with our ego’s perception and not our higher self’s perception.
When something resonates with the ego, there is a temporary feeling of ecstasy and the ego will feel validated, but shortly thereafter, the ego will begin to doubt and judge and continue to perpetuate fear-based thoughts, feelings and actions. For example, there may be some individuals that feel validated in their prejudices and stereotypes based on gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation or religion because they can speak to examples that fit those prejudices in their lives, but they fail to connect to the perceptions of their higher self where there are plenty of examples to counteract those prejudicial experiences.
So one way to tune-up our lives would be to discern between our ego and higher self-perceptions and begin resonating through our higher self. The higher self always resonates a vibration of love. All positive and integrative thoughts, feelings and actions originate from love. All negative and segregating thoughts, feelings and actions originate from fear.
The laws of physics confirm that there are electromagnetic forces in the entire cosmos and because we are also vibrating beings, we can amplify loving or fearful energy based on the focus of our thoughts, feelings and actions. Our amplifications of energy boomerangs back into our lives. To live a life of love and abundance, it is essential that we focus on positive and loving thoughts, feelings and experiences.
The Institute of Heart Math has reported significant findings in their research reviews about how the heart responds to positive and negative stimuli. In The Resonant Heart, authors Rollin McGraty, Raymond Trevor Bradley and Dana Tomasino propose that, “The heart’s field acts as a carrier wave for information that provides a global synchronizing signal for the entire body. The heart’s magnetic component is about 5,000 times stronger than the brain’s magnetic field and can be detected from several feet away from the body.” Therefore, if we experience negative emotions such as fear, anger, anxiety or frustration, our heart rhythm pulsates an inharmonious signal and if we experience positive emotions such as love, joy, appreciation and gratitude our heart rhythm pulsates a harmonious signal.
It’s great to be passionate about helping people create fulfilling and happy lives by showing them how to shift their thinking, feelings and actions so it is aligned with loving energy and manifests into positive experiences in the physical. In Hardwiring Happiness: The New Brain of Contentment, Calm, and Confidence, neuropsychologist Rick Hanson, Ph.D., speaks to using our senses to fully experience our positive experiences and the importance of “installing” these experiences into our brains so that learning is heightened and they are not just “fleeting mental events.” This will increase the neural firing in the brain during those positive experiences and the likelihood that wiring will occur and it will be easier to experience a repeat of those positive experiences with more intensity and duration.
Are you ready to shift into a more uplifting experience by tuning up your heart and brain to more loving and uplifting experiences? Change your perspective to, “I feel a state of joy and peace in every moment,” instead of, “Face reality, there is a lot of negative in the world and I have to accept it.” Young children remember and effortlessly maintain that stay of joy. Adults can also achieve this state by returning to their intended natural state.
