Household Hazardous Waste Collection in Moonachie

The Bergen County Utilities Authority (BCUA) will be sponsoring a household hazardous waste drop-off from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine, March 8, at the BCUA facility in Moonachie.

Acceptable items include gasoline, glue, anti-freeze, fire extinguishers, mercury switches, kerosene, disinfectants, fluorescent light bulbs, used motor oil and lighter fluid. A complete listing of acceptable and unacceptable material is available on the BCUA website. All items brought should be in its original container and labeled. No computers, electronics or tires will be accepted.

Businesses that wish to leave waste must preregister beforehand. A disposal fee will be charged and collected.
